Nancy, you asked 'should I wait until Dec."? Sept. is a great time to go because of low crowds but warm weather that allows swimming. Dec. is also empty from after Thanksgiving until about a week before Christmas and oh so beautiful for the holidays. But most often is too cold for swimming.
