I have been playing at Disney properties since the 60's. I visited DL when Walt Disney was the BOSS.
I love Disney - its still absolutely magical. I'm one of those silly people who cry when they first see Main Street ... every time I go.
Its still a magical place, but the article is right - its showing wear. Its still the best, cleanest, most wonderful place on earth - but its beginning to show its age, just the littlest bit. The great thing is this .. right now, its not such a monumental thing to fix. Later it will be. Walt Disney wouldn't have allowed it to get to where it is - that's part of what made him who he was.
I think the article is great - because maybe it will get the powers that be to set the wheels in motion to fix things BEFORE they get to the point where they are insurmountable
