There has been rumors for nearly 30 years (maybe more--but I'm only 33, and have been hearing about it all my life) that Disney was looking at Oklahoma to build another DL/WDW park. All the rumors I've been hearing for forever are that it would be located on HWY 75 between Tulsa and Bartlesville (I know, most people probably haven't heard of B'ville, so in case you're interested, it's where Phillips 66 is headquartered--until the Conoco-Phillips merger that is!). There's plenty of land available, it's all open ranchland, and it's only boiling hot between June and September--it's not unusual to have temps reach above 100° for weeks on end. The only time they would have any problems is during tornado season (spring) and if we get a really, really bad ice storm during the winter months.

Having one here in Oklahoma would definitely help our economy out tremendously, and I, for one, would be first in line for a season family pass every season.

If you went further north (Kansas on up), winters get way too bad for it to be feasable to have a Disney theme park.

I do think your plan would fit in perfectly well here, too!
