Actually, we were convinced that it was a scam.
We had taken a few photos and decided that we should have one of the pros take one in front of the Castle. So, during the photo, a CM came up and was making bunny ears over the photographer. After the photo he said, "I think I know how to make your trip extra special."
Of course, the cynical Bostonian in me says (in my head), "oh sure, what's this gonna cost me?"
We were stunned!
So, we met him at the "backstage gate" over next to SM about 30 minutes before the "pre-parade". He taught us how to wave like Cinderella. It was really fun. We practiced by waving to the train that went by. As the train went by, I said, "You're all jealous and you wish you were us!" No one on the train heard me, but a lot of the CM's did and they thought it was funny. We really had a good time.
Each of us got Mickey ears with our names on them.
We had no idea that they were going to announce our names, so that was cool too. Then, at the end of the parade, they gave us an official looking Disney Certificate that says we were honorary grand marshals for that day.
A very cool memory indeed.
