Not too burst your bubble, but I did that last year and I am not sure I would do it again. We took a vacation to Disney from Dec 19 - Jan 1. We did the cruise first and stayed at the Wilderness Lodge second. The cruise was fabulous. Highly recommend a holiday cruise. The boat was decorated beautifully.

The wilderness lodge was well decorated and we even got a stocking on our door on Christmas from Mickey. However, the parks wre horrendous. It took us 45 minutes to walk up main street to the castle. The CMs were tired from being overworked. The lines were terrible. It was an hour wait even for Its a Small World. The guests were plain rude. We went earl on CHristmas Day to see the parade and people were pushing and said wheel chair people should bot be allowed in the front row and tried to move them. A CM had to intervene.

We had some people from England, after walking up 10 minutes before the parade, tell us we should squish together and put our daughter in our lap after waiting an hour and a half for the parade to begin in our seats. We politely explained that we had been waiting for over an hour in these seats and we wanted to be comfortable. They made a scene and started yelling at us.

We found the stress levels are much higher around Christmas for both the CMs and the guests. To be fair, we usually do travel off season, but I was not prepared for what happened. Especially after they closed the park on Christmas Eve and Chriatmas because it was full to capacity. We had a dinner resevation at Liberty Tree Tavern for dinner and we were told if we left the park, we would not be let back in even with those reservations.

We spent most of our time at the resort, which was great and a nice relaxing vacation. However, we go to disney once or twice a year so it was ok not to be at the parks all day. If you do not go that often, and want t to be christmas-y, go fromt he week after THanksgiving to the week before CHristmas. Lines are short and decorations are up.

Hope this does not discourage you too much, but I will never go at that time of year again.
