The Food & Wine Festival is one of our favorites every year. DW and I usually go twice a week during the Festival so we can hear all the artists who perform at the Eat to the Beat concerts.
In addition to all the food stands, there are lots of other interesting things to do like free wine tastings and cooking demonstrations. The Festival program you get when you enter gives you a day-by-day breakdown of what and where everything is happening. As far as we're concerned, it's a not-to-be-missed event every year. You can read more details of the
Food & Wine Festival.
As for crowds, in all the years we've attended and as many times as we've gone, we've never had a problem. The entire month of October is annually among the slowest at WDW. There are always exceptions, but I really wouldn't let that deter you.
