For our one trip to the West Coast, we had originally booked our DL stay at one of the small motels directly across the street from the park (not sure of the name...Park-something). When we checked in however, it was more than sub-par. It was yucky! And not cheap price-wise either. So we pulled out the AAA guidebook and found an alternative accomodation immediately.

We ended up just down the street at the Portofino Inn and Suites. It was upscale, clean, pretty and had a kid's suite at one end with a separated King bedroom for us. All for about the same price as the dump we had just left.

I would recommend it to anyone travelling there.
