Have you considered splitting up your stay? Since you will be reimbursed (mostly), why not spend the first three nights at the Beach Club. There are tons of things to do around the resort, the pool is great (there is even a little kid pool that is just like a beach, and only about a foot deep) and there are plenty of restaurants around. You will probably be looking at about $235 with tax after the discounts are released. As an option, Wilderness Lodge or Animal Kingdom Lodge both have a lot of fun things to do, and would be less expensive. You will be about $175 per night after the discount at WL for a lodge view.

After that, you could move over to a moderate and go from there. I would suggest Port Orleans Riverside for both the extended stay and the shortened one. Great resort, two big themed pools, two resorts to explore and a boat to Downtown Disney.
