Re: Which Disneyland Resort?
We've stayed at the Grand Californian. We were very happy with our stay. The room was an average-sized hotel room but with very upscale amenities - high-speed internet connection, a mini bar, coffee maker, robes, etc. The view from our room (we had a theme park view) was just unbelievable especially at night.
The hotel has it's own entrances to both Downtown Disney and California Adventure.
We were there to celebrate both my dh's and my ds' birthdays, and when we checked in they were both given birthday pins, "autographed" pictures of Woody, and when we made last minute reservations at Ariel's Grotto for literally 15 minutes after we decided to go there, the hotel still took the time to notify them that they had two birthdays coming and Ariel's Grotto gave them more pins, a song, and a complimentary dessert. We had the same acknowledgment the next morning at Goofy's Kitchen.
When we got back to our room, they had left four glasses of milk on ice, and four HUGE chocolate fudge cookies.
We've also eaten at the Napa Rose which as absolutely unbelievable food. Of course you don't have to stay there to eat there but it's worth mentioning.
