The girl I saw wasn't wearing an official thong, just a swimsuit (and a wedgie!) bottom that wasn't full coverage. Maybe it was the string bikini on top that made it seem even smaller, I just didn't think it was appropriate.
And as for the 8 and 10 year old French girls at the water park, 10 is definitely a pubescent girl, and that is just creepy that she wasn't wearing a top.
