First Solo Trip (5/17-5/24) Trip Report!

Hey everyone!
I just got back today from a WONDERFUL week in WDW. I went as a solo traveler and I can honestly tell you I would do it again in a heart beat. Anyone considering it - GO! do it! It was so fun. I wasn't going to do my trip report tonight but I think I just might have to...
MAY 17th
I woke up at 6 am got some last minute packing done and got showered and ready to go. I got to the airport in providence about 2 hours prior to my departure (lol at first i drove into the wrong parking lot). I met a nice older couple while sitting at the gate waiting for our boarding to begin. Their names are Azel & Terry  Hi Guys! and they were nice enough to save me a seat next to them on the plane which made things better. They were hilarious. and might I add congrats to them on their 50th anniversary next april! We finally arrived in orlando and i went right to the CM with the mickey gloves headed downstairs checked in and got on DME and headed to all star music. As you are going to your resort they play a movie welcoming you on DME and such and ours started out "Thank you for visiting the WDW resort we hope you enjoyed your stay" WHOA! lol I was like I didnt get there yet! So our driver laughed and changed the dvd. I saw my WDW sign with the addition of the happiest celebration on earth and i was so excited! yay! We dropped people off at Coronado Springs then sports, music (my resort) then to movies. I checked in and grabbed some food and headed to my room my luggage hadn't arrived yet but no stress ... I went to MK instead. And now let me start off by saying... I have chatted with several CM online (i am interested in becoming one) and one of them I have actually become friends with. So we joked around saying wouldnt it be funny if we ran into each other BUT what are the odds of that happening? Honestly - very good odds! As soon as I walked in I saw my friend standing there talking to one of his CM friends that works at MK (My friend works at EPCOT) so I ended up hanging out with him later on that evening. Just funny I think. So anyways I went on IASW - rehab looks great then on to Haunted mansion and PoTC (They were all walk ons) and then wishes was going to start so my friend and I watched the show it was so nice! Ahhh I was finally home. But oh so tired... so i slept good that night. The crowds at MK were so great not long waits at all. Oh it did rain hard for about 30 - 60 minutes but nothing a little poncho can't help :) I also ended up taking the ferry to the T&TC and the water pageant was going on while we were on it. It was so pretty! I have never seen it in its entirety (SP?) OH! Almost forgot! :hammer: I got to see mickey say goodnight to everyone from teh Main STreet Station on the way out! It was so cute!
and my luggage was in my room when i returned :)
oh and I stayed in Jazz Building 2
May 18th
Time for Epcot. And what a beautiful day it was... so I walked into innoventions plaza and noticed soarin had a wait time of 25 minutes. So I decided to try it out. I went into the single rider line and man is that a long walk! lol. But it was so pretty inside. anyways... as i am waiting on my gold pair of wings waiting to get into the ride, the lady in front of me says shes also a single rider. so we start chatting about how I want to become a seasonal cm and shes asking my why and this and that... turns out she works at casting and she gave me a scout card yay! well not a real one she didnt have any with her so she made her own and put her direct line and everything on it and some number and her name and stuff i was so excited! and then... we rode soarin. all i have to say is wow! I am one who is petrified of heights but honestly... it didnt bother me (til i looked to the side). i was in the second row all the way to the left and the feet dangling above me didnt bother me. and it wont unless you realize they are dangling there just focus on the movie and the scents and that end scene Oh my Gosh AMAZING! LOVED IT! AFter that I just took my time walking around future world. Playing here and there I spent some time in the land. I was going to do World Showcase but decided to save that for another day. I did however get a look at the pots that are so patented by those vendors who have made their way here on the boards (and not by choice lol). After that I took the monorail to the T & TC then to MK. I strolled down main street and then headed to tomorrowland for TTA then a spin on the carousel of Progress. I ended up doing some shopping and going back to the hotel then coming back to MK after a little nap. I walked onto the hall of presidents and then right onto mickey's philharmagic and then on the SWSA. I did spend a lot of time taking photos of things I have never noticed before. I decided to take a walk down main street to snap some more photos and who do I see... again. My friend is there taking pics of the castle. so we chit chatted for about 20 minutes. I actually ended up watching Wishes again and hung around for EMH taking pics with characters and taking pics of people with characters.
Oh as I was walking down main street after wishes a little boy about 5 years old and his mom are in front of me and he says "Mommy you know what I love about disney world - we can walk in the streets!" It was the cutest thing ever. Isnt that what disney is all about?
May 19th
I woke up late today and headed for Downtown Disney Marketplace. I bought a book and some pictures from the Art of Disney. I went back to the hotel to drop off my stuff and get a quick lunch and then went to Epcot again. I rode SSE when I walked in then I decided to take a ride on JIYI. And seeing as I hadnt seen Illuminations since 1999 I grabbed a seat in Mexico (right near the bridge) and again I met a wonderful CM from the disney studios and she was such a great person. Illuminations was amazing and after that I spent some time people watching. I love that :)
May 20th
I Finally headed to the DIsney Studios. I didnt spend more than 3 hours there. The Star Wars Weekend had been kicked off that day and it was so crowded. But while parade started I did manage to walk on RnRC. After I went on that I went into the Magic of Disney Animation and then I spent an hour in one mans dream. I never get to take time to read everything and watch the film at the end but i did this time and i loved it!. I tried going over to LMA but the next show wasnt for like 2 hours so I went back towards the GMR but you couldnt budge in that park so I left and headed to MK (of course its my favorite park). I took the WDW RR over to Mickey's toontown fair and I went and met my mickey mouse in the judges tent. How fun! I met a couple more characters and then went through fantasyland and into liberty square. I caught a show provided so wonderfully by the country bears :) I love that show! The CM who was working the theater for this show was so awesome he got everyone going with yeehaws and kneeslaps. I ended up grabbing a seat for Spectromagic in which I ended up sitting to another solo traveler and turns out her and I stayed at the same resort so we hung out the rest of the night. She hadnt watched Wishes yet so we did watch that again (I cant get sick of it!) and she loved it too. Oh there was one thing that made me get a little sappy - during spectro a little girl had her snow white dress on and snow white saw her came up and kissed her head. and the little girl was shocked. The mother of the girl cried she was so happy it was awesome. I loved it.

I went to MK again today. What else is new? lol. I really never get to be there to just enjoy it so now I was and I did. i must have walked around that park about 20 times lol. I went into the Enchanted Tiki Room and watched the Tiki Birds do their thing. I ate lunch at Pecos Bills. I grabbed a seat in frontierland for the share a dream come true parade. I ended up going on TTA again just a nice way to relax I love it. Then I went on CoP again. I was trying to get my fill of it because it usually isn't open when I am there. So then I headed to Fantasyland where I watched Mickey's Philharmagic again. That show makes me love donald duck more and more everytime i see it. I didn't do much this day. I basically just spent time shopping and wandering around watching people and things like that. I did however find a new interest in watching the camels in adventureland spit on people. Haha people would get so mad thinking someone threw water on them.
May 22nd
Today was Animal Kingdom half day. Went to the park especially to see lucky. He came out at 11:15 and I was just amazed. And the looks on the faces of the kids were priceless. they couldn't believe there was a walking dinosaur! lol it was so cute. So I finished my way through Dino Land and headed past Tarzan Rocks (I have seen that show sooo many times there was a bit of a wait before the next one started anyways). And then I saw it - Everest. Oh man is that thing huge. I took a few pictures of it and it was cute because a little boy was asking me about it and I was telling him it about it and I said "well I have to go see the rest of the park" and he said "Oh you dont work here?" that made my day seeing that hopefully I will be a seasonal CM soon. :) I just cannot believe how massive it is. I cant wait until it is done. Then I went over to get on Kali River Rapids but it was shut down. It only had a 15 minute wait too but they were telling people it was down. Then I went through the exploration trails and headed to Camp Minnie Mickey. I watched Pocahontas and her forest friends... it was cute. Then they were seating people for Festival of the Lion King (My favorite) So i had to go and grab a seat. That show always seems to amaze me. Then I got to meet Donald in his Camp attire. He is so cute :) I called it a day at AK. I like AK but its not my favorite of the 4 parks and I have done everything there before and knowing I will be back there soon it was like I didnt have to rush to get everything done so it was good :)
I went back to the resort to grab some lunch then i headed to EPCOT. I spent the evening in World Showcase. I love World Showcase as a solo traveler. You can see so much more and just relax. I loved it. I finally got to see the American Adventure show. I really enjoyed it. I spent time in each of the countries and it was very relaxing. I am glad I waiting til evening to do this because it made it so much nicer because the sun wasn't beaming down on me.
May 23rd
My last day in the parks :( and which one do you think I went to? Of course MK! lol. I really didnt do as much as I would have liked to. The previous day while coming back from MK I slipped and hurt my foot real bad. It actually has a bone coming out of it and was bruised pretty good. But I stuck to going to Epcot and doing WS and then spending my last full day at MK. Unfortunately I had to keep sitting every couple of minutes and that cause me to get a bad burn lol. but its turning into a nice tan now :) I had lunch at Pecos Bills again. and I did grab a frozen Lemondade (The high for the day was supposed to be 92) I did ride TTA about 3 times and I did have some quality time with the characters lol. I even got to take a pic with one of the penguins from Mary Poppins!!!!! So cute! lol. Overall I had a great day at MK despite my foot problem. I went back to the hotel at about 5ish. I had spent about 8 hours at the park. Though one of the conductors on the train was awfully rude lol. I did spend about an hour sitting atop Main Street Station just admiring everything. It was great. Then I headed home to the hotel and hung out with my buddy who works at Epcot.
May 24th
Took Magical Express to the airport and headed home. Leaving 80 - 90 degree sunny weather to come to 45 degree freezing windy rainy massachusetts - no fun.

Overall the trip was what I needed. A great way to get yourself together and get some ME time lol. I would go back as a solo traveler in a heartbeat. I met some of the most amazing people ever. (Azel, Terry, Milly, Charlie, Nancy, Marc, Patti, and Carol). You can really take in wdw the way you want going as a solo traveler. You experience it in a different light. My only complaint was my foot. I still havent gone to the Doctors and I probably wont (I dont like doctors) but you know I am kind of glad I hurt it. It slowed me down to enjoy everything that much more. I liked the resort though I prefer Movies and Sports first. I went down with 7 rolls of film and came back with 12 lol. It was an experience I will never forget. And I can't wait to go back in a few weeks to hopefully become a seasonal CM. But I will keep my fingers crossed. Anyways... hope you enjoyed the report. Sorry it was so long!
