I'm taking a "leadership" class right now. (The 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership by John Maxwell) This last class was the "Law of Empowerment." The law states that only secure leaders are willing/able to empower those below them. Insecure leaders hold those with potential down to keep from looking bad.

I immediately thought of Eisner and the talent he has chased away from Disney. By being involved with the search, I believe Eisner may have been looking for a slightly less competant replacement. So that years from now people would be saying "He's no Eisner!"
