What part am I missing about the DVC?
We became members in 2000, and officially paid off our loan this summer. As for "spending thousands for one trip a year", since 2000 we have had two trips a year, staying in a one-bedroom villa at OKW. With a full kitchen we eat a lot of meals in the suite - that alone is a saving on restaurant food. As for "high pressure sales talk", I think everyone who's bought into DVC will agree that that is not the DVC way. We first inquired in 1996, asked millions of questions, went on tours, but didn't take the plunge until 2000. During all our inquiries we didn't feel pressured at all to join. The reps were friendly, informative and totally laid-back. Once we decided, we were amazed at how efficiently the whole transaction went. Quite frankly, without DVC, there'd be no way we could afford 2 trips a year.
