I don't under stand how it can cost anyone "thousands per year. We bought in December of 2000. Financed through DVC for 10 years. We have 150 points at OKW and pay $110/month and about $40/month for maint and taxes. After 2010, we will be paid off...no more $110/month. We will still have another 32 years of vacations after that, no cost for lodging...How can you beat that??

For example...if you stay at Pop Century for 7 nights per year, that is approx $800 with tax during regular season. If you go every year until the year 2042 you'll have paid $29,600.

With DVC we paid about $11,000 (plus finance fees) and 150 points per year gets us about 12 nights per year at OKW. We can go 7 nights in the early summer for 98 points and then over spring break for 5 nights for 55 points.

But, the GREATEST thing about DVC is that you don't have to do JUST disney. They make it so easy to use your points all over the US with the Concerige Collection. You can go to the mountains, or New York City or anywhere in between. You call them up, and they do the rest. For example, we "paid" 147 points in Keystone Colorado during the summer for 7 nights a few years ago for 6 of us in a two bedroom condo. Plus Keystone gave us certificates to do tons of free activiteis there (ie gondola rides, hay rides, panning for gold, etc).
