Katrina Affected students

Just got an e-mail from WDW Cp, all student affected by Katrina can Immediately apply for the fall season, heres the official word from them:

Dear Campus Rep,

At the Walt Disney World® Resort, our hearts are with the millions of people who have been impacted by Hurricane Katrina. Following last year’s active hurricane season in Florida, we can truly sympathize with the citizens of Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama. We want to do all we can to help them and return the comfort and support they have provided us.

Toward that effort, the Disney Theme Parks & Resorts College Program is making arrangements to offer students who attend colleges and universities in the affects areas the opportunity to join our Fall Program immediately. This will provide at least some of the thousands of students who cannot continue their education this fall fully furnished housing, an opportunity to continue earning credit through our education courses and earn money through their work experience in our parks, resorts and other operating areas across the Walt Disney World Resort through Jan. 3, 2006.

We want all of you, our Disney College Program Campus Reps, to be aware of this offer in case you receive questions from students. Interested students should call 1-800-722-2930 or send an e-mail to wdw.college.recruiting@disney.com to begin the application and interview process.

The Walt Disney Company also has made a commitment of $2.5 million to support recovery efforts in the communities affected by the hurricane. This includes a $1 million contribution to the American Red Cross for immediate relief efforts and $1 million for rebuilding efforts targeted at children's charities; the remaining $500,000 will be directed toward volunteer centers providing services to the communities affected by the hurricane.

Since the days of Walt Disney himself, the company has been committed to enhancing the lives of others. In difficult times like these, we are convinced we must do all we can to provide better futures for our youth and, ultimately, a stronger community for us all.

Thanks for all your help!

Sincerely,
The Disney College Program
