We always stay at the Anaheim Desert Inn and Suites - it's right across from the crosswalk too. We started there because we knew someone that worked there so got a discount, but stayed after she left because it's clean, cheap, and has free breakfast goodies. Plus, if you ask for room 127 (I know, I'm anal!) they charge it as a regular room but it's bigger than the other rooms that are not suites, so there would be plenty of room for a rollaway. Also that room is kind of back away from other rooms so if you have kids that tend to be noisy after an overstimulated day at the parks you don't have to worry about bothering anyone. There is a great view of the fireworks (usually, haven't seen the 50th show) from their rooftop balcony thing.
