I realized I forgot my last day
On Thursday, despite the rain we headed to MGM after express checkout at ASM and a quick check in at AKL. We treked through the rain. DH and DD7 rode Start Tours, both ahd mixed feelings about it. Then Dh took DD7 and DD1 1/2 to see Muppets as DD3 had enough vacation at this point and was scared of everything(I think spaceship earth was the last straw for her). They all loved the show especially the bubbles(seems to be very popular with MGM several shows blew bubbles on the audience). Then we grabed fast passes for little mermaid. Happened to catch Minnie and Pluto together for autographs(personal observation: the CM that escort the chrachters always seemed grumpy, how can you be so bummed when you are hanging out with minnie? it's not like they are the ones wearing the hot suits. I am sure they deal with a lot of grumbly people when they cut the line short, but I never actually saw anyone get upset about it so this boggles my mind). Anyhow, we grabed some eats, I loved the barbecue pizza. Then the rain cleared and the sun shined, it was time to see Little Mermaid. Forced DD3 to see and she was enjoying until Ursula came out. Well after that there was no getting her to see any more shows, not even playhouse disney. So I took the other girls to see this. DD 1 1/2 boogied and was hilarious to watch point and squeal. We then caught Lilo and Stich for a pic and as we were walking through center courtyard(not sure what you'd call it) past little mermaid show. There were charachters everywhere. Dh and I were getting really good at our divide and conqure method by now. We saw belle, hurcules, and meg. Most of the other charachters we had already seen, and they were getting ready to leave. So we headed over to Al's toy barn to visit Jessie, Woody, and Buzz. They were the best. Their interaction with the kids was wonderful. We saw the green army men too( I find them a little frightening, something about their faces spooks me). Dh took DD7 in the Honey I shrunk the kids playground and then DD7 and I saw Beauty and the Beast( the 4 for a dollar act before the show was great). Then we left the decision of staying for the parade to our daughters. Of course we stayed. And despite the fact that this caused us to miss dinner at Boma's I am glad we did it was a neat parade. The cars were cool and we were able to see some charachters we weren't able to in other shows and greetings. So after a quick pin purchase we headed back to AkL. We rested and then went swimming. The hotel room was beautiful and the animals, it was unreal to sit in a hotel room and watch giraffes and antelopes hanging out. I would definatley pay extra to stay in a delux over a value next time. It was a bit of a hike to the pool though and I found the layout of the hotel confusing, but that's probably just me. So DD7 convinced Dh to stay at the pool longer. I headed back to the room with the others and ordered myself a zebra dome and cheesecake since I missed my chance to eat at Boma's:( . That zebra dome was to die for, I heard they were good, but to finally taste it MMMMMMMMMM. I shared the cheesecake. DH and DD7 brought back some real food to the room but no comparison to the dome.
The next morning we hit the pool again. DD7 loved the slide and the zero entery was perfect for my other girls. I would have stayed longer, but Dh was itching to get back on the rode. So we picked up a couple souviners. DD7 is now into pin trading. Good thing we headed out when we did, I guess, by the time we checkedout and started driving I wasn't feeling to great. DD's slept through the night soundly and Dh got us home by afternoon. I thought it was sureal when we first arrived at Disney and then I got home it seemed sureal.
Things that amused me at disney:madmad
--I couldn't believe the amount of people on cell phones making businees deals or whatever. HELLO isn't this a vacation. And the people using them as walkie talkies, they sounded like their family was on a secret mission to tackle every ride and they were plotting their strategic moves:hmmm (I hope I didn't offend anyone I just find this funny)
--Those people that look at you like your kid is so annoy or what is wrong with you when your kid cries or is having a bad moment. HELLO they are the same one's who's kids were crying 15 minutes ago, it's not like we are at a corparate office it's DISNEY
---the adults that see the children standing behind them trying to watch the parades and well, don't care.
Tips
-Make sure you grab that little paper that lists all the shows for the day(most complete list at park, hotel copies don't provide everything) and character greeting times/places
-Divide and conquer when it comes to chrachter greetings. I would stand in one line DH stands in another next to me. Who ever gets to the begining first takes the kids and then hop over to the other parent's line.
-Epcot and Mgm are the best parks to tackle in the rain.
-Take snacks to entertain the kids in line rather than toys. They are disposable and we were lucky to have short lines so they just take up space.
-Don't use the mail drop at ASM our postcards were never received
We'll that's it. Thanks for everyones help.:)
