Hi Randy, A couple years back, my family did 9 days at DW, then 2 at Universal. We stayed at the Portofino Bay , what a beautiful Resort. I do have to agree , I think it's just an amusement park too. My family did like it, especially some of the roller-coaster rides they have.
Of course, it just depends on your family. We are definately more Disney fanatics. So my opinion may not help you out.
I can tell you, we did go to City Walk, which is really nice, especially, some of the restaurants. We ate at Jimmy Buffet's, which was really nice, also ate lunch at NBA. They also have Motown & Emeril's, which I heard was excellent. ( do need to make Reservations for that one, books up quite quickely)
All in all, we still liked Disney better.
One other thing, when you stay at one of Universal's Hotels. When you go to the Parks, all you do is show the worker your room key & you go right to the front of the lines. Something like fast pass at Disney. You just need to show your room key, and that's it.
Like I said we are more into Disney not Dr. Seuss or Betty Boop. One other thing I did enjoy , was the I Love Lucy exhibit. I guess, it's something you have to try at least once. :hmmm Good luck!! JOANN:)
