I've traded tons of pins with people all over the world through Pinpics and never had a problem. The Reference Center on Dizpins works much like ebay's feedback system - without the numeric rating. If the person proposing a trade has a good history, or at least many recent trades listed, you can pretty much count on them. If trading a really valuable pin - or with a newbie - you can always do a third party trade. Each of you mails your pin to a Moderator - they mail them out once both are received. It costs you a second postage but you can't buy piece of mind like that! I've found most people in this hobby/addiction are far more trustworthy online than some of the ones I've tried to trade with in person! Isn't that weird?
Peace & Pins,
Andrew
