We were going to fly Airtran for our October trip but decided to use another airline when we found out about the fee for choosing seats. At that time it was $5 per seat for each leg of the trip. Beacause we had a layover that would have been $40 more each way for choosing seats. What had seemed like a good deal no longer was after adding $80 to the total. We flew Delta instead and were able to get our seat assignments for free.
