When we were there in October we saw people hanging out on the balconies of the treehouses at night so people definitely do live in them. They look so neat - I think some sort of a rehab is a great idea. We had one of the boat drivers tell us that the reason they stopped using them as hotel rooms was due to Handicap laws - they are not handicap accessible.
