As for the plantations in Atlanta almost all of them were burned by Sherman so there really aren't many originals left. Plus, like Bella said if you want to see plantations and other "Old South" architecture you need to visit the South Carolina coast, Charleston and Beaufort. Charleston is a wonderful place to visit!
