Actually, if you ask for it at a grocery store you'll definitely get it.
It comes from our trips to Austria - everytime we ever ordered a dessert they'd ask - "mit schlag? We quickly learned that "schlag" is whipping cream. (Austrians LIVE on whipping cream - what a civilized nation.

)
So: Ja, mit schlag, bitte, is "Yes, with cream please".
