OK.. a little into....

This trip was a bit of a surprise for the whole family. We were not planning on going to WDW until after Christmas

Dec. 2008.
Around March, we started getting that Disney itch..

and the only way to scratch it was a trip to "The World".
A few years ago, we had promised our son that for his 8th grade graduation gift, we would go to WDW. Since we were planning an "After Christmas" trip, he figured our "usual" summer trip was out of the question. Rlander & I decided to surprise him. We planned everything behind both of the kids backs.

We had done this before, so we have gotten pretty good at it. We decided we wanted to rent points again, and this time stay at either AKL or WLV. We rented points from the same wonderful person

we rented from last year, and were booked for WLV.

We were able to keep our secret for several months.

We arranged ahead of time for our DD to be out of school 4 school days in advance. We already knew that DS would have graduated by the time we left.. so all was good on his end. Around the very beginning of May, we decided to let our DD in on our secret.

We thought it would be fun for her to be in on our surprise as well. Now that DS is older, it is a little harder to surprise him. We had decided to wait until his actual graduation day, and surprise him at his party with family. We were all for that idea until we noticed he was acting kind of sad.

He was saying that most of his friends were going on trips this summer, and he missed that our "usual summer" trip was not happening. Rlander & I talked about it, and decided to let him in on it.

We decided to sit down as a family, and watch the NEW Disney planning video I just happened to get in the mail that very day.

We were watching it for a while, and Rlander had planted a note on the pantry door that said.... Guess What????? We are going to WDW on May 27th. He sent DS to the pantry for some Doritos, and he came back saying we were out. Rlander & I looked at each other.. like WHAT?!?!

He didn't see the note?!?!

So Rlander sent him back for popcorn, and he was like.. what's this

We were like SURPRISE!!! DD was so excited jumping up and down cause she was already in on it. Needless to say DS was pretty phyched! He was on cloud 9 after that. HE was going to the Happiest Place on EARTH!

It just so happened that on this trip Rlander & I would be celebrating our 15 year Wedding Anniversary as well. So we were off to THE WORLD to celebrate!
