Re: Wishy*s "Anyone smell a skunk?" Disneyland Dreams trip report!

CONTINUED... Sat. June 21st

We arrived at the airport, cleared security with ease, found our gate, tried desperately to relax.... until we realized... there was still a lingering smell of SKUNK! OH... MY... GOSH, why wasn't this going away!!?!?! It was faint, but annoying enough. We realized the smell was sticking to our FINGER NAILS of all things & Daniel collected some lemons from the airport bars and we scrubbed our fingernails with lemons & hand-sanitizer I had in my purse. It actually worked pretty well and after about 20 minutes of intense hand scrubbing I think we were 100% skunk free!

The flight went smoothly, we arrived at LAX on-time, and proceeded to the pick up location for "Super Shuttle." Our big blue van arrived within 10 minutes, we picked up 2 more passengers and we were off to Disneyland!!

It was IMMEDIATELY evident how BLAZING hot it was outside, and WHY you ask did it become only evident at that point? Well, because we were sitting in the back of the van where no windows opened and Mr. Driver REFUSED to turn on the air conditioning. I was SWEATING bullets & when we asked the driver if he'd roll his windows down all the way he didn't even answer us and cranked them down about 1/2 inch more. It was a HOT HOT 30 minute drive & the driver really was totally rude. When he opened the back doors to retreive our luggage he NEARLY threw Daniel's bag on top of my laptop and never looked us in the eye once. OK, whatever, we were there!

It was 11am and it was a VERY welcome sight to see that WONDERFUL "Disneyland Hotel" sign welcoming us!

We checked in, our room was THANKFULLY ready, and we proceeded to floor 9 to enter room 2437.

In our room was a note sitting on the table telling us our "Sprinkles cupcake delivery was waiting in the Bell Hop refridgerator and to please call when we wished for them to be sent up!" At this point ANYTHING bad that happened that morning was INSTANTLY forgotten! I was DYING to get my hands on a red velvet and they were JUST as amazing as I expected. PURE HEAVEN!

We called Bell Services who apologetically told us they were REALLY busy and it would be about 30 minutes. I threw on my shoes and retrieved my God-sent cupcakes myself.

We ate a few, showered & changed our clothes real fast, and were walking through the gates of Disney's California Adventure by 11:40am!

Here are a few photos from Saturday morning, POST-SKUNK!

I'll be back tomorrow to do the bulk of day 1 in the park & a STRANGE occurance with Goofy's Kitchen that evening (which was SUPPOSE to be my birthday dinner).
