I thought you could buy the DDP for the length of your stay and only buy a 1-day ticket, because the DDP was tied to the nights of your stay, not your tickets.
Also, if you rent, realize the weekday nights (Sun - Thurs) are less points than weekend nights (Fri - Sat), so you could save some $$$ there as well, maybe do a value or moderate on the weekends and switch to the deluxe during the week. I don't know how many days you are planing to go into the parks, but you may want to look at APs as a cheaper alternative, which could get you some other discounts (AP rate for rooms, etc) as well.

I was hoping that was the case with the DDP and tickets.
I never really thought about renting points until now, but it certainly sounds like something to consider.
I'm not sure about the AP discounts either. If I were to get an AP would I have the ability to get a discounted rate whenever I would want to go or just during certain dates or specials.
DH and I are actually going in February this year for a band trip with one of our sons and then again in the summer with the group. I believe that the Feb trip we will be there for 6 days and then in the summer for 12. Now not all of those days we will spend in the parks, some will be at the Water Parks too. So I wasn't sure if the AP was the route to go.
Like I said in the beginning, it feels like an Algebra problem at this point.

and I just don't know which way to go. The only thing I do know is that I want to go to WDW!
