Most CMs will tell you they belong to the company.
One time we were looking for a certain pin (a baby princess) and a CM said, "OH I saw that in the pin book in the break room!" He was kind enough to tell us to come back later and he would check when he went on break! It was great! (a little Disney magic)
So, I think they are provided with pins and can switch them out as needed so that their lanyard isn't full of the same kind!
I'm sure there is a CM on here that will fill you in!
