This sounds like good advice.
If it makes you feel any better, a few years ago I nailed a great rate for flight, very proud of myself and enjoyed telling anyone interested all about it. I fixed the departure time in my head as 7AM, and we arrived at the appropriate 1 hour advance time (it was a few years ago) with big smiles... only to be told our flight was taxiing down the runway as we speak
It was a 6 AM flight!
Total panic, red face, how do I tell them we can't go... I immediately sent 3 kids, and glaring husband off to get breakfast while I scrambled for an alternative. There was a 7 AM flight, lots of space, no problem Mrs. W. we just need $635... so much for the great rate!.
And I had to wear that mistake for several years afterwards.
