WOW! Interesting article. I would have GUESSED that Disney big-wigs would have put more consideration into the problem of 'mainlanders getting clearance to travel to Hong Kong' if that was their expected main market.

If I were in charge I think I would pull out of Hong Kong all together but NOT call it a "park closing." I'd create a whole marketing project based on "the Magic is Moving" and make Shanghai look like the new big expansion. I could see the adverts now; big cargo boxes with Disney stickers on them & Mickey driving the moving van.
Kinda like when they moved the light parade from WDW to DCA.
