We went to see Cape Canaveral 4-5 years ago and It was phenominal - Yes its expensive and parts of the tour were very cheesy-tourist stuff - but just to see the place - the incredible size of the shuttle hangars (is that what they are called?) it was worth the trip.

My only advice would be to stay away from the bus tours if you have young children in tow. On our bus was a poor family with a two year old that literally screamed for the entire ride. The family did everything they could to get off the bus, but the security restrictions made it impossible for them to leave the bus for the entire tour.

One really unexpected bonus for us was all the wildlife we saw on the tour. Alligators, bald eagles, and even a bobcat were sighted along the way.
