DLR and disabilities
Can I get updated information regarding the Special Assistance Pass. We will be at DLR and DCA in mid November, and I want to be prepared. I am not getting around as well as I used to due to worsening of my lung condition. (I also walk with a cane due to a total hip replacement).
I am actually considering renting an ECV for my two days in the parks.

Re: DLR and disabilities
What kind of information do you need Jen? Talking to the folks at City Hall once you arrive will help you get the right kind of special assistance pass, one that will suit your specific needs.
![]() An ECV is an excellent idea if you think it will help you enjoy your trip more.

Re: DLR and disabilities
Thanks for the information.
I have heard and read conflicting things regarding special assistance passes at DLR. I have used the GAC at WDW and had heard that it has been increasingly difficult to receive the same accomodations at DLR due to non-disabled people abusing such priviledges.

Re: DLR and disabilities
I have heard the same things, and would like some current info too. I have called 4 times, talked to 4 different cast members and gotten 4 different answers, so I am not sure anyone there knows what is going on either. My son is not visibly disabled, he is autistic, and could freak out if he has to stand in line for too long - he has a lot of sensory issues and if people he doesn't know brush up against him or anything like that he could lose it for the rest of the day.

Re: DLR and disabilities
Well, I will be going to DLR in two and a half weeks, and I will report back to you. I do not have the autism to deal with however, and I am the one with the differing ability...so I am not sure if my report will help you any.
I will report back about my experience.
