Re: Disney sign language

I thought it was, too. It caught my attention because I have a niece who is not hearing impaired but her primary mode of communication is sign language (she has Down Syndrome). She's only three and is so good at sign language. The family is waiting another year or two before we all go to WDW for a vacation together. It will be fun to see her use Disney signs!

The article mentioned that the sign language is only offered at certain times, seems like it should be offered more often for the hearing impaired. Everyday someone is going to enter those parks that would appreciate the assistance.

Hey, I was glad to read that!

I get a kick out of the emphasis that when you sign "Mickey Mouse" you have to smile.

Re: Disney sign language

That's kind of fun! I did notice that they have sign language interpreters during parades but now I'm going to have to check out these new signs.

Re: Disney sign language

That is really awesome. I remember my professor in a beginner's sign language class teaching me the signs for "Walt Disney" and "Mickey Mouse", though they might have been dated... Honestly, I'm not too surprised Disney would do that, but yeah.

As a girl who's hard of hearing (and it'll only get worse ) I really appreciate stuff like that. Thanks, Disney!!
