GAC's

The GAC cards maybe changing soon to counteract problems for guest and CM's. more "user friendly" Remember you should explain your needs to the CM and anything you dont understand be sure and ask :)

. After a few problems at first this card was a life saver!!! The only problem really seemed to be Cast Members that didnt read the card, or for instance in the Jungle Cruise when they asked could he transfer from the chair to the boat ..they didnt allow him to do so but made us wait over 30 minutes for a special boat, not telling us why we were waiting. The stand by line was only 5 minutes. as in my trip report I was the one that suffered from this wait because even though we were in the shade ..there was no air flow at all .. we were melting and I melted the fastest .. I became totally dehydrated, got very shakey, my vision blurred and we had to get out of there before I passed out. Also the CM at the POC was new or something and insisting that he couldnt take a wheelchair to through, and would have to be able to walk through .. this isnt true .. all he needed to do was transfer from his chair to a MK Chair that was there .. they put them on the boat with you. and then you take the elevator back up at the end of the ride.

thank you Hyway

Hyway posted this link in another thread and it answers almost every question someone may have about the use and purpose of a GAC

Hey Tink,

Isn't there a thread for links for trip planning? Maybe this link could be moved to that thread?

someone recently posted there were changes to the GAC. Does anyone have any updated info about the cards?

*edit* we have been since I posted this question and the only change I noticed was they were Red now instead of Blue.

Re: GAC's

I have a question about GACs for future trips to WDW. We were just at WDW in October and plan on returning in Oct 2005. Can one get a GAC at their resort (of course one must be staying at a WDW resort!), or do they have to go into one of the parks to get one?

It would be very convenient if you could get one at the resort...when I requested one at Epcot, the CM was slightly less than magical, in that she didn't want to listen to my issues. (I walk with a cane, since I had a total hip replacement - plus I have restrictive and obstructive lung disease). The CM just handed me a card, no smile, no have a magical day...I realize it was busy at Guest relations, but I think perhaps a job where she has less contact with the public might be in order!

Re: GAC's

it would be convenient to pick one up at the resort ..but no ..you must get them at Guest Services. and its only my opinon and experience but they tend to be much better about filling them out properly at MK.

That is good to know. I have heard that the Guest Services locations inside the parks are also more receptive to actually listening to the guest regarding GACs than the locations just outside the parks' gates. Is this anyone else's experience?

Re: GAC's

I always get mine inside the park, so I don't know about outside, but I have heard of a lot of people having trouble with the outside CM's.
