15.1 Million Guests
I have a life outside of Disney, but occasionally they collide. This just came out in an email newsletter from Christian Camp and Conference Centers of America:
___/ Fun and games Along with travel and tourism, amusement parks are becoming more popular as 9/11 memories become more distant, according to a recent study by “Amusement Business” magazine and Economic Research Associates. This year, attendance at popular theme and amusement parks increased about 4 percent, with an estimated 169.1 million visitors at North American venues. This is the first overall increase since 2001. Researches believe that in addition to fading U.S. fears, a hike in international guests because of the weakened U.S. currency and better weather overall---despite Florida’s hurricanes---contributed to the popularity of the sites. Worldwide, attendance jumped 2.2 percent, with 252.4 million customers. Even with the ferocious storms that hit the southern states, the Magic Kingdom at Orlando’s Walt Disney Word ranked first in attendance with 15.1 million guests. Anaheim’s Disneyland came in second, with 13.3 million visitors, followed by Disneyland in Tokyo, which saw 13.2 million people enter its gates. [Source: Associated Press, December 14]

Re: 15.1 Million Guests
I knew Magic Kingdom always has the most visitors, and then Disneyland BUT I thought Epcot or Universal was third. I would have never guessed Disneyland Tokyo. I guess that is why they are opening a new park in the asia market. Seems like Europeans are the only ones that don't like Disney... LOL... Sorry couldn't help pointing that one out.

Re: 15.1 Million Guests
I did some research on this one, and in the WORLD that is the rankings. Epcot is the third busiest park in the US, I thought I was right. BTW: MGM is 4th, and AK is 5th. DCA only ranked 8th...
OK More research: In 2003 Disneyland Paris had a higher attendance rate than Epcot. How is it considered a flop? Sounds pretty popular since its the 4th highest visited park in the world.

Oh they do like it just fine they just don't want to put up with the French and their attitude over there. You have no idea how many Europeans come to the States to visit Disney! ![]()

The snooty folks that live IN Paris were as snobby as ever when it opened and looked down their nose at anything American. But the reality is that most people living outside any of the big cities in Europe are just like the rest of us. As far as I know, DLP has been the #1 European tourist attraction for the last 3 or so years. I'm sure Towncar T could add some detail to that.
