You All Need To Listen To This If You Havent Already!!!!

I havent touched this in a while, 'cuz my Disney Trip was last year and over and done with. We went to 6 Flags this year to mix things up, but I didnt enjoy it as much as Disney. They cater to you through thrill rides, but Disney truly has the service and family component as soon as you walk in. 6 Flags had appauling service. Anyways, I was goin through some of my music, and I come across:

Brian McKnight's Remember the Magic (From the Park)

Man, I was in tears. I'm listening to it right now, and I'm in tears. I cant wait to have kids and bring them here to truly experince the magic. I want to propose to my girlfriend here. I want to have as many memories as I can here. Serioiusly, try to find this song and listen to it. If Wishes did it for you, this will definitely do it again.

I just listened to that yesterday! 6 flags service is so bad! I hated it. My big kids liked the rides, but they did not like the lines, and every ride shut down at least once while we were waiting in line! UG!

Dont get me wrong, I love thrill rides, and I think Disney should open up another inverted coaster. But Id rather feel and experience the rides (even while in line!), rather than just get on it and thats that. Every ride in Disney has a story line, I love that. I walk down mainstreet and I can feel family. Thats the magic that Walt dreamed of from the start, and has carried through all these years.

That is a great song. I agree about six flags...just not worth the aggravation. I think US is a better choice for older kids and the only park I ever dream of seeing, besides all the Disney parks througout the world, is Cedar Point in Sandusky, OH...everyone I know that has been to that place says it is a must.

I have been there! It is wonderful. If the theme at 6 flags is garbage then the line tells the whole story!

I just love that song! I love to listen to it followed up by Celebrate the Future Hand in Hand with a nice ending with the score from Illuminations. I'm usually bawling by the end!

I know of two CD's that that song is on (and we have them both :D ) Music From the Parks and Disney's Greatest Pop Hits.

Re: You All Need To Listen To This If You Havent Already!!!!

The main difference between Disney and Six Flags is that Disney is a Theme Park and Six Flags is and Amusement park. We have been to a few Six Flags, and they all were the same, horrible overgrown carnivals. These Amusement parks are NOT for family's, just places for parents to send their kids to run wild, get out of hand and get sick . Even Hershey's Amusement park was better then any Six Flags we have been to, although it still was not our cup of tea. We personally like the type of place where you can relax and possibly learn something like Disney's Epcot, we also like places like Old Sturbridge Village (Sturbridge, MA) and such, we find it very relaxing to just walk around and talk to the very nice "cast members" in places like this, try to talk to an "employee" at Six Flags.

Well said...I am tired of six flags, I grew up 15 miles from Hersheypark and also worked there for a summer...so it is old also. I couldn't imagine carrying on a friendly conversation with an "employee" at any of those places. Also I would NEVER imagine being able to say I was tired of Disney
Not EVER!!!!! I've been to Sturbridge, Plymouth Plantation and all that...seems our families have the same kind of values for our children
To me, I want my kids to learn at least something on every trip.

I think six flags has its advantages...none of which surpass DISNEY!!!

Re: You All Need To Listen To This If You Havent Already!!!!

I worked at Six Flags Great Adventure for a summer a few years back. I agree with all of you about the difference in service between SF & Disney. And it all comes from the training. On the one hand, SF tells the employees that everyone is a CM & the customers are guests. (I wonder where they got that idea from? Same with the failed attempt at pin trading 2 years ago.) Part of the problem is the other thing they teach. I worked security & the one thing they told us was to treat SF like your home & demand the same respect for the property from these guests as you would if they were in your home. Let's think about this. Why should the CMs be nice to guests. If you're going to look at it as your home, a whole bunch of intruders just walked through your house door.

I don't like SF for many reasons. For one, the lines are outrageous and it looks like this is a company-wide problem, secondly admission is too darn expensive and they have the nerve to charge extra per park. No park hoppers! Lastly, the price of food & souvenirs is way too high. They don't allow packed lunches to come in but let's get serious--$8 for a measly burger?

I truly love Disney but I have really fond memories of Cedar Point in Ohio. That's one place I would love my girls to go to one day.

on top of that, "guests" have no regard to park regulations as far as smoking and drinking is concerned.
