Disney & Katrina

ABC is reporting Disney is sending $2.5 million for hurricane relief efforts.

Excellent! I hope other companies step up.

Re: Disney & Katrina

Excellent! I think Walmart donated $1 Mill. And Target stepped it up with $1.5 Mill, and said they'd help with distribution of water and supplies.

There's also a benefit concert on Friday 7pm, I think. Being broadcast on NBC stations.

Re: Disney & Katrina

That is great that so many companies are stepping up to help these people. I can't believe what I am seeing when I turn on the TV, I can't begin to imagine what these families are going through.

Re: Disney & Katrina

I don't know about nation-wide, but the Illionis Red Cross is holding a phone-a-thon for hurricane relief. The number is 1-866-303-2693. They'll either mail you something or you can give them a credit card number.

The phone-a-thon ends at 8p.m. CST today (Thursday).

I am going to Costco tomorrow and they always have a big barrel out when this kind of thing happens for the red cross, so I will be throwing some cash in there. Just remember, every little bit helps. If you can only give $10, give it. If everyone gives what they can it will really help.

Re: Disney & Katrina

I heard about Disney's donation too, I hope other companies will follow suit. I also heard about the telethon Friday night and that the Jerry Lewis telethon always held Labor Day weekend will be raising money for the Hurricane victims in addition to the money they will be raising for MDA.

Re: Disney & Katrina

There's a benefit show being broadcast on NBC networks, on Friday at 8pm. MTV will have a benefit on their music channels on the 10th. And BET will air one on the 9th. Most of those have already made separate donations - of at least $1Mill.
I read an article on Foxnews.com last night that gave a whole list, including medicinal companies that are donating medical supplies. And Johnson & Johnson donating toiletries.
