Ohanas on Food network

The Best of...Best Family Dining episode BE1A25 was on 12:30 this morning. Ohana's is the first restaurant featured & the only one from WDW but it's well worth the watching. They briefly take you around the Polynesian as well. It sure made me lonesome. If interested, the Food Network will be re-airing the show on Dec.17 at 1:30 in the afternoon. Set up those VCRs.:) Also, episode BE1a14 The Best of...Asian takes you to Teppanyaki's from World Showcase-Japan. I haven't seen it yet but look forward to. Rebroadcasting is Dec. 12 at 1:30 in the afternoon.

There will be a mini family reunion for us around Christmas in Orlando and I'm thinking of making Ohanas the gift from our family. What should I know - hopefully I can do a quick reserve now for 14 of us... we'll be using our AP for about 2 plus weeks...spending a long time there at the table is not done much so I do not think we'll be rushed. What time of day would be best for the dinner together... it's going to be great...but there's a little pressure to pick the best (around) Christmas Dinner ever. Please Help !

I think choosing O'hana is the best choice in all of WDW!!

I love it. I don't know if they do anything special on Christmas day (I would assume they do) but on any other day, I would recommend dinner. In the evening (after 6:00, I believe) they have coconut/broom races for the kids and hula-hoop contests. (They make sure that every child is a "winner!")

The meal is all you can eat and what a selection! Also, if you want more of the appetisers or dessert, don't be afaid to ask! They'll bring it...!

And, if you have pickey kids in your family (like I do!) they don't have a "printed" kids menu, but every time we have eaten there, my kids have gotten hamburgers and mac 'n cheese.
