After years of talk and discussion. I finally broke down and bought my son a share of Disney stock. It will be a Christmas present for him this year.

I plan to buy one for my future daughter as well.

So, now that I am an official co-share holder for my son, what else can I expect. Will I get financial reports now? Are there other benefits that I may appreciate or find interesting?

The plan is to get Disney stocks this year, then get Pixar stocks next year.

Now that I have finally bought stock, the only other Disney goal I have had for years is to join the Disney Vacation Club... hmmm... maybe in five years.

Ooo, you get good stuff in the mail. The stock certificate is really nice and definately frameable for children. I always get the shareholder reports and invites when things are going on in my tri-state area. Every once in awhile you'll get postcards with company updates and "previews" on what's going on in the company. It is always fun to give the children the small dividend check they'll get too. It may only be like .30 for one share but usually children get so exited to see a check with their name on it.

Maybe I will do this as a gift for my mom. It doesn't seem like she "needs" anything.

Welcome to the "Owners Club" I have had Disney stock for almost 8 years, it does ok, it hasn't really done much in the past6 years but there have been many problems, mainly beacause of MGMT, Mr. Eisner.

Overall they are a great solid company.

I have increased my shares through the Disney run investment program, you can get info on it at www.DisneyShareholder.com you can register and view your account, buiy more shares, etc but you have to have a share issued in paper form to you so you can use the website.

Great Info, I just registered. My stock should be arriving any day now. It has gone up one dollar since I bought it, so I am hyped.

Anyway, I intend to buy more in the future, but for now it is exciting just with the one.
