Mickey's Back Yard Bar B Q

Just wanted to know if anyone has done Mickey's Backyard bar b Q and if so how they liked. We did the Hoop Dee Doo Review a few years ago and even though my wife wasn't thrilled with it my boys and I loved it!:)

We actually enjoyed the Barbque more than Hoop De Doo. It was much more relaxed & had much more audience involvement. The food was great, the music was great, there were characters there off & on that came in to dance or do pictures & autographs, and there were also a couple of other enterntainers that we loved. We've decided that if we ever want to do a dinner show again that's the one we'll do.

BACKYARD BARBQUE

I WENT TO THE BACKYARD BARBQUE A FEW YEARS AGO. IT WAS ONE OF THE BEST THINGS I'VE EVER DONE AT DISNEY!!!! FOR SOME REASON WHEN I WAS THERE, IT WAS PRACTICALLY EMPTY. MY FAMILY AND FRIENDS DANCED ALL NIGHT. I PERSONALLY GOT TO DANCE WITH MICKEY. APPARENTLY HE DID NOT KNOW HOW TO DO THE "BOOT-SCOOT AND BOOGIE."

Where is the backyard BBQ located? It sounds like a good time!
How far in advance should you get reservations?

It is at Fort Wilderness and is only a seasonal event. It is only on certain nights of the week. You can book it up to a year in advance of the date you want.

HUH! I just booked it for our trip in AUGUST! I don't think they run it in March. It is a sesonal event, I think that it is only for the warmer summer months. I would double check that!

We went last March...although it was the week before Easter so that might have had something to do with it. But like I said, they kept saying they didn't have dates until like December! Go figure!

Loved it...see my post right after your initial question. Was just talking to my DH about it yesterday & he said to mention that the food was buffet rather than family style therefore you could get up & get anything you wanted without having to ask. We prefer that way. Plus the food was good! Definitely something we'll probably do again at some point.

They had fried chicken, but also ribs & hot dogs & burgers. My DD who is a mac & cheese nut said theirs was really good. They also had corn on the cob & other stuff. Don't recall anything we didn't like!

Don't worry about being Goofy! I wish I had a nickel for every response I've had to delete after I went back & read the post I was responding to & realized my post made absolutely no sense or whatever. I'm especially famous for doing that before my morning caffeine!

I would also like to do this this summer when we go. I have read the mixed reviews on wdwig and still think it sounds fun. I do have one question.....one reviewer said that they expected there to be about 100 people there but found that there were about 600 people there. Is it really that large? This person said it was very crowded and tables were too close together making it difficult to get up for more food.
