Disney referenced in rock songs
On the thread elsewhere about the family that got the park to themselves, I made a vague reference to Warren Zevon. Apologies for those that didn't have a clue what I was on about.
Warren was an American singer-songwriter whose most famous song was Werewolves of London. Hopefully many of you have heard of him. Well he wrote a song called Splendid Isolation which referenced being in Disneyland all alone. The lines mentioning Disney were:- Michael Jackson in Disneyland Don't have to share it with nobody else Lock the gates, Goofy, take my hand And lead me through the World of Self This had made me wonder how many other rock songs mentioning Disney we can come up with between us all. I hope this is a thread not covered before and that it gets your thinking caps on. |

No Doubt named one of their albums "Tragic Kingdom". I'm not sure the Disney people were too happy about that.
No Doubt is from Anaheim by the way.

Billy Joel's "We Didn't Start the Fire" mentions Disneyland.

"Madman" by Ugly Kid Joe (Track 1 on their 1999 release As Ugly As They Wanna Be) is about the threat of a killer posing as Mickey Mouse and running loose in Disneyland. It's upbeat and cheesy but I love the last line...
"Disneyland is the place to be, in California, by the sea."
