Persistance pays...keep at em. I had a crazy issue with sprint on a over charge and would not let it drop...kept going at them etc. Just when I got to the point of accepting that it may never be settled, they gave in. Do not stop writing people and going on about this nonsense. Disney is responsible. Pay the bill so it doesn't affect your credit etc, but demand they give you the money.

This right here brings up a good point . . . do you have proof they paid this? I know in the room it says that Disney is not responsible for items not locked in their safe (not room safe) . . . BUT if they paid for the replacement drug, then they admitted to FAULT . . . right?

Wow..I never thought to lock up perscription drugs. I will do it in the future as I wouldn't want to go through what you did.
Just pay the hospital off a little at a time and keep writing letters. I also like the idea of contacting the media. They could do a story about locking your medications up when you are staying in hotels. They could mention your experience at Disney which might get some response from them. It doesn't need to be really negative but more of a "beware" story.

I think the best thing to do is be paitent! And keep at them. Big corporations rely on the fact the us "little people" will give up the ghost and forget about dealing with it. Even tho i don't think there is anything you can do, because like someone said they are not responsible for items left in the room, don't give up. If you do not hear from any manager contact a lawyer. If anything he can call them, they tend to perk up when they think they are going to be persued legally. We all have faith that they will do the right thing, especially since they already paid for the medication. This may take awhile and a lot of headache but keep ya head up!!!

I say that you write again and threaten going to the larger media "Today" show (not cbs ha ha ha) with a consumer warning of what you are going through. Heck- I would do that anyhow! Its something that I am sure has happened before and something people really should be aware of!

I would do what Woohoo said or call and threaten to call local authorities. Prescription drugs are such a problem these days that something like that was taken for a reason!!!!!!!!!! If the local police got involved that would be bad publicity for Disney that I would think they would not want over something like this! Especially involving a drug, all be it a legal drug, it was obviously stolen with the intent to use or sell it illegally. This person should not be allowed to keep working there, have they been let go do you know? I will be more careful with everything next time.

I would also POST this on every board you can. This may of happened to others and they may be able to help you and I am sure someone from Disney moniters the big disney boards and that may be to your advantage too.

I'd say to keep at them too. Mention your idea of going to the media as well as the police. They must have some PR person that can talk to you about it. You'd think it would be cheaper for them to just pay this than to risk some bad press.

That Orlando Sentinel seems to just grab anti-Disney stories and shake them for all they can get. They'd LOVE this one.

I agree, I think the meds were stolen with intent to sell. There is a HUGE market for this drug, apparantly. There have been articles in my local papers about how people are selling it on the street.

They won't reveal any information about the Mousekeeper...I have asked if she got spoken to or fired, for that matter. No one will tell me anything.

Believe me, this has taught me a VALUABLE lesson. I will be keeping it in the safe from now on, wherever I travel to. I guess I was just totally immersed in the Pixie Dust to think that something like this would happen ON WDW PROPERTY!

I can't believe they are being so unreasonable for $160...RIDICULOUS.

I am going to send my letter to everyone else on the Board. If I get no response, I am going to send a 2nd follow up letter to everyone threatening to go to the media. We'll see if that gets anyones attention.

I would contact Disney once again and tell them, if they do not reimburse you, you will notify the media, AND since it was stolen from your room, you are going to file an incident report with the local police- and I would do so.

Stealing prescription drugs is a big crime, it happens all the time, so even though they may not be able to solve it, they would still investigate it. They would have Disney pull records as to who cleaned the room that day, etc.

Go for it. This is a very serious crime.

also, yes post this on every board you can. I do think we all should be informed of this. I never thought of leaving my prescriptions anywhere else except on the sink area.

Personally, I agree to keep at it if you feel that strongly. Big companies have a tendency to do this, knowing that most people will give up and just go away. It is the principle of the thing, not the $160.

Make sure when you write to the powers-that-be at Disney that you include CC: The Editor - Orlando Sentinel at the bottom of the letter. Even if you DON'T send it to the newspaper (which I would), that WILL get their attention.
