If I misuderstood her statement, I apologize. When she asked "what is wrong with good morals and values" it gave me the impression that she thought that Miley lacked them for doing the shoot as did anyone who thought they were appropriate photos.

No, there is no more information to add to this discussion at all. I believe we are taking this thread to another level and have started a debate on what is and what isn't accpetable for a 15yr old to do. Obviously, not everyone is going to agree on that, so I will bow out of the discussion at this point. My opinion has been stated clearly and will not change regardless of what is said. I do, however wonder how people would react if this was their child that everyone has so much to say about...what would they say if their child made a decision that people acutally think they have a right to say is wrong? No one can say for sure on here cause their child is an average one not dealing with the fame etc that Miley, in my opinion, is handling very well. She's 15...this is one of MANY many many decisions that she is going to make that others are not going to agree on.

She is young and impressionable. I don't think it was right for a 15 year old girl to be in a sheet on the cover of a mag with Smudged lipstick. Again, that is not something that I would let my daughter participate in. That is just me though. Some people don't see anything wrong with it. I can't speak for her morals or values. The mag got what they were looking for Publicity.

I seriosuly think (and I am not talking about you) that people need to get off their moral high horses and think a bit. Try and remember yourself as 15 years old and think what you would have done. I would have done the shoot...my parents wouldn't have thought twice about it. She bares her shoulders...spare me. I just left the mall and can definately say that she was over dressed compared to some of the girls i just saw and yes, they were with their parents. If this is the worse thing this kid does, she's great. She's never been photographed or "seen" doing anything remotely inappropriate. I think her parents have done a wonderful job keeping her grounded and very much a 15year old girl.

looking sexy doesn'y mean she doesn't have morals...this seriosuly is SO off. Have you seen some of the vidoes and the clothes wore by the kids on the disney channel?? With so many other things in our country that is morally wrong, do we seriously need to judge this act? We are talking about a beautiful young lady here who showed shoulder?? holy cannoli people I feel like I just stepped back into 1950. Again, still think the father/daughter shot is a bit creepy and think the photogrpaher could have portrayed their relationsip differently in the picture.

I couldn't agree with you more!! Plus if you compare the photos to any of Annie Leibovitz pictures, you'll see it's her style . . . she does a lot of the draping and the pale skin, etc. She is a highly respected photographer and I don't think her intentions were to put Miley in the spotlight!

I think everyone is so use to her "squeaky clean" image . . . that they were slightly shocked and then it spun right out of control!!

I DID NOT HEAR they were canceling her show . . . is that TRUE??? There will be a lot of disappointed kids who never even SEE VANITY FAIR mags . . . what ashame!

I just also want to say that Annie Leibovitz has to be one of America's most prolific, talented, and genius visual artists of the century. Many of her photos in the past have created talk, controversy, & emotion. The pregnant Demi Moore & Brooke Shields photos, we all know the one of John & Yoko, the photo of Bruce Springsteen's bottom for "Born in the USA," all those gorgeous celebrity photos for Disney's 50th & YoaMDs, Gisele Bündchen and LeBron James on the cover of Vogue recently, heck she even tried to pursuade the Queen of England to bring a live horse into Royal Quarters to photographer her on it... the Queen wasn't havin' it either!

I know these examples are all adult clients but I really do feel like if Miley's parents were present they had the ultimate voice in what they felt was appropriate or not for their daughter. I am not a judge of anyone's parenting so whatever choices they made were hopefully in THEIR best judgement. The concepts of "art" & "artistic" is an age old debate and it probably will be until the end of civilization, no need to get upset about anyone's opinions. It is what it is!

When someone hires, or is invited to be photographed, by Annie Leibovitz you know what you're getting.

No, not earthshaking by any means. But our kids emulate these young stars and that's the problem with those photos. It makes it alright to get more and more provocative in real life. The kids don't get that this was suppose to be art. They see it as a ticket to immitate. Does that make any sense?

And I have to agree with Daisee on the photo with her dad. I thought that was a bit suggestive.

Does anyone have any details on this? I am currently in Clermont, FL (just down the road from WDW) in fact we went to DtD tonight for dinner.

We are planning on going to Aquatica tomorrow, but DD would love to see Miley. we would adjust our plans accordingly.
