Disney on your mind

I just was wondering what you do when you need your Disney fix or just something that always reminds you of Disney.

Examples
My family drove up Mt Washington last week and on the way up they give you a cd of facts to listen to on your way up. As soon as it started I instantly cried and my husband smiled at me and knew what I was thinking it reminded me of spaceship earth. It was the climb up the music and the deep voice of the narrator.

Also I love to go onto youtube from time to time and choose a ride. My kids and I pretend to be on it. My lil sister works at disney and sometimes she will call while on a ride(yesterday it was Journey into your Imagination).

Thanks in advance for sharing

Watch planning/behind scenes dvds, listen to cds, youtube videos, travel channel shows and go to WOD NYC.
My favorite dvd is Disneyland - secrets, stories & magic. I have never been to DL(yet)but I love this dvd.

Re: Disney on your mind

Disney is always on my mind in some way. To mean it means an escape from reality for a short time...a much needed break in my very stressful, hectic life. I find I have it on my mind the most when I have had a tough day. It's a focal point for me...a reminder that I will get a break from this. I think it's good to have something to look forward to. Everyone needs it.

I couldn't have said it better myself. I haven't been in three years we have only been able to use our DVC points once. We have sold them so we can keep it until we get back on our feet financially. Disney takes me away even if I can't get there. I have a trip planned for next October. I have my fingers crossed. This website is medication for a bad day.

I am so glad you have a trip in the works. I know you were struggling there for awhile and hope that the planned trip means you are starting to see above water. It is getting harder for me to see light at the end of the tunnel and will have to sacrifice my WDW vacation if I can't get it together soon. It stinks, but it's the way it is. It's not like I'll never get back there again. I have to wait and see what my income tax return looks like. If I can't catch up by then, that money will have to be used otherwise and a trip will have to wait till next summer. It's all good I suppose...WDW isn't worth going into deep debt for. Who wants that stress in their life? It's hard enough as is... So nice to see you posting. I hope that means you will be around more often. I always enjoy your posts and your opinions.

Re: Disney on your mind

OMG I hear all of you!!

I understand not wanting to go into debt for Disney, however I am thinking of trading one of my children to go.

My kids are getting older DH18, fosterDS17, DS16 and DS10...their needs become more expensive and one in college....I just shiver at the thought.

I have 4 photo albums I have been flipping through. I have home movies I have been watching.

This weekend was supposed to be the weekend we arrived in WDW. I unfortunately had to have a 3rd hernia surgery that was unplanned and that put a nix to us going this year. So right now my husband and I look at the clock and say "oh we would be here right now...." Or "this was our ADR @"

So this is a hard week for us. I have ALOT of Disney on my mind right now. I was so thankful to find this site in August and everyones TR have been a nice blessing for me.

Our family dogs always remind us of Disney Belle and Ella(short for Cinderella)
And our family room is complete Disney and that is where we spend most of our time...so we are always Disney but right now more then others.

I hope I just didn't ramble but I think this is a great thread!

Wow you are all over this site and I am so impressed that you remembered me and even more than that my situation. It really makes me feel special. Thanks for your concern, it gives me new hope to see strangers care about each other. I hope I don't sound too corny.
I am sure things will get better for you and you will get your trip. I know it sounds so cliche' but everything happens for the best. My DH just started a new job last week and if things go well we will use our DVC points for next Oct. My DD is 8 and my DS is 4 I really want to get there before they are adults. We will just need to budget and watch our spending. In the mean time I will be on this site enjoying more TR and on other WDW sites keeping up on all the disney news.

I know what you mean. Yesterday my cousin, his wife, son 5 and daugheter 2 arrived at WL. They bought our points so we could keep the DVC another year. All day yesterday I was holding back from calling him to ask where he was but I didn't want to bother his trip. For all four of them it is their first trip and I am living through them this week. He called yesterday at 6 and I was jumping on my bed. The first thing he said was "Thank you Thank you for the DVC points" He loved the room and the trip is going smooth. He said it took them 10 minutes on the boat to get to MK and they loved the park and look forward to spending today there. Again it is killing me waiting for them to call I want to know what ride they are on right now and give advice every step of the way.

I am really looking forward to hear every detail and get pictures. He goes to MNSSHP on Tuesday and know they will just be thrilled.

This site is my Therapy

Re: Disney on your mind

I come here and read Trip Reports. And if there aren't any new TR's floating around I go back and re-read old favorites of mine and of others on here. Also I have little stuff that I do. Like last night I was really sick and I stayed in watching girlie movies and eating mashed potatoes and I snuggled up in my favorite Disney sweatshirt and blanket and had a nice time It pains me that we don't have another trip planned and probably won't have one for awhile but we have some other exciting things going on so I guess that makes it (sort of) better.

Re: Disney on your mind

My kids and I also like to look for hidden mickeys in everything. Cheerios, bubbles in the tub and rubberbands.

If we are waiting for an appt or a long drive we will play a game. A-Z Disney we go through the alphabet and name Disney rides, characters or movies.

We like to look at the maps and see which rides my DD is tall enough to go on now.

I started laughing when you said about looking for hidden mickeys everywhere...we were at Disney in September for my DD5's first visit.
We were explaining to her what 'hidden mickeys' were, eventually by the end of the week she caught on and even found one on her own....anyway, the week after we were home, she was taking a bubble bath and she looked on the Mr Bubble bottle and said 'look mommy, a hidden Mickey!' i looked and sure enough the 3 bubbles on the bottle look like mickey (just upside down)!!LOL!!
