They will only if our voices will be not heard
But we can change many things
Now that the board is looking for a new ceo is our chance to let the new ceo know our reqeustes and what the fans really want

Go to www.savedisney.com and register yourself
Then write to Roy and tell him you would like Disney to do hand-drawn animated movies again
A lot of people wrote asking to keep hand-drawn features, so join the chorus

I think it's fair to say that even the guys at Pixar would laugh out loud at the idea that there is no place for hand-drawn animation in the future. That's like saying the existence of oil-paints makes all water-colors irrelevant.

Re: No More Animated Movies From Disney???

Hey guys-

I go to an art school, and disney feature animation recently came and made a presentation and reviewed portfolios, etc.

BUT, in the presentation they told us that they are opening a new studio to pick up after their ties with pixar, one that is all CG, and this studios first project is TOY STORY 3. So, they were there to hire for the new studio, you can imagine how many people they will be hiring.

Kinda shows the direction they are headed in. A fellow student asked what the standing was with 2D. They said they are still taking story ideas, and arent totally cutting the idea out...but for the next several years all planned projects are CG.. some of my 2d friends were kinda bummed. One thing though, hafta argue with someone who said anyone can do 3d animation, unlike 2d, which is art, as the person said. 3D is very difficult to learn, and takes much artistic talent. same skills, just a different medium.

Re: No More Animated Movies From Disney???

They aren't stopping animation totally... Lilo and Stitch 2 is coming soon and a sequel to Brother Bear. Not sure if they will reach the big screen though.

They are just re-focusing their attention to 3D like Twice upon a Christmas and the upcoming Chicken Little. After seeing Philharmagic... I really like seeing Disney in 3D, but I hate to think that 2D would ever become a lost art.
