Flight of the Navigator

I have never heard of this Disney movie but I am watching it on the Hallmark channel right now. It's a cute movie, how have missed this all these years? It came out in 1986 amd make a reference to the movie E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial.

Here is a how Hallmark.com describes the movie:
"David Freeman is an ordinary 12-year-old boy who returns home one evening to discover that it is suddenly eight years later even though he hasn’t aged a day. The explanation behind where he’s been leads him to a fantastic journey aboard an alien spacecraft."

Sounds like a great movie. I'll check to see if Netflix has it for viewing.

Flight of the Navigator was one of my son's all-time faves. He was 4 when it came out and he watched it many times on the "old" Disney Channel (before the Disney Channel turned DUMB). We eventually got the videotape when it came out and my son about wore it out. It's a gr8 flick. I saw it on DVD the other day at WalMart for about $13.

Really?? I am so happy to hear it is out on DVD.

My DS is 6 right now and I am sure he will love it once he sees it (he slept until 11 am today so he missed it). He loves both Witch Mountain movies so I think he will like this just as much.

It came out when I was a kid, and it's one of the absolute best, ever!! So cute!

I can't believe I have never seen it either. When I was a kid I saw all the Disney movies as soon as they came out but I totally missed this one. I just told my DS about it and he wants to see it today. I am not sure I can buy it that soon but I will have to buy this movie.

I love the Hallmark channel, they show older Disney movies almost every weekend.

Gosh! My kids loved that movie, too!

RE: The Hallmark Channel . . . my cable system doesn't offer it :-( I have made several requests to them to ask them to add it to their line-up but it hasn't happened yet. Last month, a CSR actually told me that they were planning to add it 'around the first of the year' so I am hoping that it will be available soon. Many of the Hallmark original movies are some of my favorite movies (right up there with many of the Disney movies).

I, too, loved watching "Flight of the Navigator"...that was one of Sarah Jessica Parker's first movies. Although, I have to say...Mac & Me was a great 80's post-E.T. movie too.

Wow, I have seen it so many times. It was my oldest son's favorite movie and he was 10 when it came out and my middle son loved it too at age 6. Actually, I thought it was pretty fantastic myself.
