Found this on Animated News and thought some of you might be interested to see it. It's a side by side comparison of the original Bambi release and the image updates they've made for the new relase. It will be re-released on 01 March, so mark your calendars!

I am too scared to see Bambi- I am so emotional I cry at commericals.

I heard the sound track in an MGM shop where the mom is shot and Bambi cries "MAMA MAMA!" I started bawling and everyone thought I was nutzzo- I just don't want to put myself in such pain! But I heard about it, too, and it sounds cool for all you brave people out there...

I know! It was during fantasmic (i had seen it the night before) so not many people were around, but I was like WHAT THE? I should complain! lol It made me depressed. Needless to say, I never go in that shop anymore.

Watched Bambi tonight. I remember seeing it as a young kid, but I can't believe how "man" is portrayed.

I'm not a hunter, but I have lots of friends who hunt. And I've eaten my share of venison. I just couldn't believe how the hunters shoot at EVERYTHING so indiscriminantly. (BTW, chipmunks are not a hunted creature!)

However, I love the twiterpaited scene (anyone know how to spell that?).

I can't wait to see Bambi on DVD...I have to wait for more $$$ to be in the bank before I can justify buying it, but I drool over it every time we go to Wal-Mart. (Which is, hmmm...around here?? EVERY SINGLE DAY!)

Caver...I absolutely agree about how "man" is portrayed. That is the only thing I don't like about the movie. Frankly, a lot of movies have gotten worse about it since then! Somehow, the man who hunts is always a psychopath who shoots everything that moves.

I'll be going to buy Bambi today at Best Buy - gotta love those Reward Zone $5 off certificates you get. I hope they still some more free Thumpers.

The "man" thing is getting me now. It's been so long since I've seen it, I honestly can't remember how they show him.
