'FORGOTTEN" DISNEY MOVIES

We watched "Hocus Pocus" on DVD last nite. It had been quite a while since I had seen it. I love that flick!

A thread a few weeks ago asked for our fave Disney flicks and I totally forgot about Hocus Pocus! (Actually, I probably forgot more than that one.)

I remember seeing BlackBeard's Ghost at a drive-in one evening. That was a fun movie.

Re: 'FORGOTTEN" DISNEY MOVIES

One of my gang's ALL TIME favorite movies is "The Boatnicks!" It was a cute little movie starring Robert Morse. I even remember my Dad taking my sister and I to see it one Saturday afternoon in the seventies. What a treat to find it so many years after on the Disney Channel when my kids were little, and laugh all over again. We taped it, and watched it sooo many times that the tape is almost worn through! I don't think it is available right now, so it is truely a lost Disney treasure!

Re: 'FORGOTTEN" DISNEY MOVIES

DOH! I completely forgot ANOTHER of my all-time favorite movies: Disney's Three Musketeers! (Charlie Sheen, etc.) Our family saw it at the cinema when it was released and we bought the vidootape when it first came out. Probably will add the DVD soon (is it available?). I think it's the best version of the Three Musketeers out there. Whatya y'all think?

ME TOO - on both flicks. Tim Curry is a good bad guy in TTM. Hey, my list of least favorite Disney movies might be shorter - lol

Re: 'FORGOTTEN" DISNEY MOVIES

For Christmas a friend gave me "The Island on Top of the World." I'd never even heard of it, but laughed at the trailers (extras) that said "Destined to be one of the greatest films of our time..."

It came out around 1970, and though it reminds you of 20K Leagues, it's no 20K Leagues.

Re: 'FORGOTTEN" DISNEY MOVIES

Darby O'Gill and the Little People always scared the living C**P out of me as a child (that whole banshee thing was extremely disturbing), but I think I'd like to give it a try again now that 20 years have passed.

Re: 'FORGOTTEN" DISNEY MOVIES

All these titles are great! I have forgotten so many of them. I am looking forward to re-experiencing them with my daughter in the years to come.

Thanks for listing them. Does anyone know of a list of what disney is out in DVD right now?

Re: 'FORGOTTEN" DISNEY MOVIES

My ds favorites:

Love Bug (all 4 movies)
Return and Escape to Witch Mountain.

He and his sister are both addicted to the Love Bug. One of my dd firsts words were Herbie.. but sounded more like er-b. When we are out they yell out the color of the car and Herbie whenever they spot one. (EX. Blue Herbie or Black Herbie..etc.)

Re: 'FORGOTTEN" DISNEY MOVIES

Dohh! I just forgot one of my faves -- The Scarecrow of Romney Marsh! I think it was originally done for TV, but the episodes were combined and it was later released in theaters. I might be wrong about that, but I do know I really liked that picture! And the theme song was cool, too!
