Finding Neverland

I have not seen Finding Neverland yet though I desperately want to and my query to you is...........Is the movie good enough to buy. I am debating buying the movie and DD loves Peter Pan and the story line is intruiging to our family. I really dont want to pay for rental if I am gonna just buy it anyway. Let me know if I should skip the rental and buy it, or if this is a film I should watch first to see if I really want to add it to my collection.

Re: Finding Neverland

My DSister (23), DCousin (21), and I (30) all saw it and absolutely loved it!! A very touching story, told in a unique way.....however, I'm not sure the younger set will enjoy it quite as much. There are very adult situations (dealing with death, troubled marriages, etc.), in fact, we were all bawling by the end.
Certainly worth buying for yourself.

I loved Finding Neverland! If you like Johnny Depp it's definitely a must buy movie. I went to buy it at Target yesterday and they were sold out already.

Re: Finding Neverland

I loved this movie!! I thought it was really well done, and by the time it was over I was crying my eyes out. I haven't been able to decide whether to buy it or not either... I liked it, but generally I don't have the desire to go back and watch sad movies. I agree with tink74, most of the movie isn't really for kids. The Neverland scenes are awesome, but most of the movie is kind of heavy and depressing. Just my opinion... I'd say rent first and see if you really want it. :)

We rented it a couple of days ago but I have not had the chance to watch it as of yet...been busy watching American Idol. I heard nothing but good things about Neverland.

Re: Finding Neverland

I loved the film, and we've just bought it. It's not going to be a favorite of the kids, as the concept is definitely "grown-up," but you and your adult family members will love it.

Re: Finding Neverland

Does anybody know who put it out? The screens at Fred Meyer said it was a Disney film, yet we weren't aware of it, if it was indeed. Touchstone maybe? Any of the OTHER subsidiaries?

Re: Finding Neverland

i got to see finding neverland last night and loved it so much. it almost brought me to tears at the end of the movie. that boy who plays peter is so adorable. and of course, let's not leave johnny depp out in the adorable department. *sigh*. anyway, i love this movie. i enjoyed it a lot. i know finding neverland is a miramax picture produced by the weinstein brothers. that much i know. i don't know if it is affiliated with disney though, mr. incredible.

Yes, Disney-owned movie studios include Mirimax and the Buena Vista Motion Picture Group (Walt Disney Pictures, Buena Vista Pictures, Touchstone Pictures and Hollywood Pictures) and Dimension Films (listed under the Mirimax umbrella).

I am hoping to rent Neverland this week (although after reading the posts of those who have seen it, I might buy it instead.)

Re: Finding Neverland

I watched it the other day. It was good and sad, but I don't think it is one that I want to own. I enjoyed watching it, but it isn't one I would want to watch again, and it is definitely not one either of my kids would want to watch. In fact, my DD sat down with me to watch it and grew bored quickly so she ran off to her room to watch the Incredibles for the 100th time.

Re: Finding Neverland

Just saw this last night. WOW! My depth of respect for Depp and the Neverland Story has grown by leaps and bounds. Just Amazing. The movie in it's own right is fantastic, but there is such much to it. Great.

Re: Finding Neverland

I can't stand Johnny Depp, and usually avoid his movies at all costs, but I kinda want to see this one. I'm gonna get a friend to watch it before me, she'll tell me if I really want to spend $5 to rent it.

Re: Finding Neverland

I want to see it so bad!
Some of my students watched it in their math class and hated it---of course they are 15 and have a different perspective!
