Disney Classic Movies

I love disney and always have .. and the new movies and animated movies are great ..but for me there is nothing like the old Disney movies. I hardly ever see anyone mention them and I wondered besides me how many others here had favorites of these old movies .. Just about any of the Disney Haley Mills movies are my favorites ..but I just love Darby O'gill and remember when on the wonderful world of disney Walt talked to King Brian :)

Hey tinkerbell, that was a tough one! But I had to go with Pollyanna. She was just so precious & it taught such a neat lesson. Karl Malden played such a neat roll...."DEATH COMES UNEXEXPECTEDLY!!!!!!" We crack up every time...heard so many ****-fire & brimstone preachers like that!

I love The Parent Trap because of Brian Keith (rrrow rrow!) DH likes Maureen O'Hara so it is a real family pleaser. I do think the remake was well done too and like to switch off watching them. Love the cameo in the new one too!

I went for Old Yeller. Great family movie. I was thinking of voting for Pete's Dragon, but I didn't know if it was old enough for the list.

Swiss Family Robinson

This was a tough one.
I love Old Yeller, but I just can't watch the part when the dog gets shot.
But my favorite classic would be Swiss Family Robinson. I just love that treehouse!:)

What a tough choice!

I voted for The Parent Trap, but Swiss Family Robinson was a VERY close second.

I agree about the remake of Parent trap .. I really liked it but I wasnt expecting to .. because remake of Polly Anna really disappointed me .. of course it was made for tv.

We love the remake too & don't generally like remakes. But it was really neat the way they threw stuff from the original into the remake. Just tooo cool.

I liked the remake to Parent Trap better than the original. It could be a classic.

Tinkerbell, I'm with you on the Parent Trap and Haley Mills. One I haven't seen mentioned but love it Summer Magic with Burl Ives.

I started to list it :) (singing "gotta crawl gotta crawl to the ugly bug ball to the ball) I also started to put in my other favorite Haley movie "in Search of the Castaways" and that is the one where she is grown "The Moon Spinners" I have to add something about these old disney films .. even Old Yeller ..they were "feel good" movies ..they left you feeling good when they were over no matter the sad parts.
I have been surprised that no one has voted for the 3 lives of thomasina .. I just love this movie too, it is just so sweet.

Yes, the 3 Lives of Thomasina is another of my favorites, partly because of the little girl, she is the same as in Mary Poppins, The Gnome Mobile. They are 'feel good' movies. Kind of like 'comfort food'.:o
