Where did the "Song of the South" thread go?

I saw it listed as "moved" but I can't find where it went. Help!

The thread was closed and moved the moderator to the admin. area because it was getting a little out of control. There are other threads about the song of the South and whether or not it will be released, you can go and check them out.

Maybe someone should moderate/remove the gaydays thread. That one is getting more out of control than the Song of the South thread got (unless I missed something while I was gone).

Well, it may help clear up some misunderstandings -- rumors about inappropriate behavior can be terribly damaging, left unchecked. I didn't see whatever was out of hand on the Song of the South thread myself, but I didn't do much online this weekend. (Among other things, we'll be at WDW next weekend, and we don't want to come home to a dirty, messy apartment, so this was apartment-cleaning weekend as well as sort-laundry weekend so we have clean vacation wear for the parks.)

Re: Where did the "Song of the South" thread go?

I know what you mean . We have three weeks left before we go and they happen to be the three busiest weeks. So, I am trying to get everything done for school to get out. My daughter's leaving 6th grade which is a big deal because it is the last year for all the sixth graders at the school she is attending - they all start a new school next year for 7th grade. So, they have all this stuff crammed in this month. I have grad school classes and all that other stuff you have to do to get ready for a 9 day Disney trip. This is quickly becoming a snowball traveling downhill at the speed of a rocket.

Interesting. I didn't see anything offensive about the SotS thread. A question was raised and then answered. *shrug* But I don't have control of that sort of thing, so...

Re: Where did the "Song of the South" thread go?

It wasn't an 'on fire, people going at it' type thing. The only thing I can think of that would warrant it being moved or deleted was someone asking about a black person's point of view, and a few people replied. Then for some reason, homosexuality came into topic. That might've been the kicker.

Re: Where did the "Song of the South" thread go?

Yeah, that's probably what did it...since it had nothing to do with Song of the South!

Yeah, lawwin felt it out of hand so she took care of it. Better to be safe than sorry.

Re: Where did the "Song of the South" thread go?

It was out of hand, off topic (and not in a funny hijacking way), and the right decision was made.

Let's put this thread to bed. It's 2 weeks old and no longer relevant.

That was because the issue came up of whether or not caucasians experience prejudice and can understand how it feels to experience it. It was more of a connected topic than something completely unrelated, since the discussion was partly on how African Americans might feel about the film, given history and stereotypes in film.
